Well, this is my first blog post ever, and I must say I've always made fun of bloggers. It's ironic (lit term!) that I now have to publish a post once a week, when I was adamantly against blogs. So, let's begin.
It was a dark and stormy night... Just kidding, I don't know what the weather was like, but it was nice. I was given the first two novels in a series known as Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The first novel was "Te Lightning Thief." this novel stood out in my memory, mainly because of its numerous allusions (wow another lit term!) to Greek mythology. This book sparked my near obsession with mythology. I could bore you with an extensive and completely nerdy list of all the Heroes, Gods, Monsters, Titans and places referenced on Greek legends, but alas this is not the time or place. The novel truly opened my eyes to the advantages of trying new authors. Before that book, I mainly read only Eric Nylund and Harlan Coben. After, I branched out to Ludlem, Guidick, and even a memoir by Michael Durant of the 160th SOAR (A). I've really enjoyed the freedom that comes with reading, and the ability to lose track of time web reading a good book. That's all for now, cuz sadly I have to go do some yard work. Bye everybody... See ya on the West Side
I think it's great that this led you to your love for greek mythology! Also branching out to new authors is great! It's good to see what is out there.
