Fact: Restrepo is the Best Movie Ever Made
People have been known to say that Casablanca, Citizen Kane or even The Godfather II (in Tatertozzi's case) are the greatest movies. They are most definitely wrong. The commendation of "Greatest Movie Ever Made" in fact goes to Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington's Documentary Restrepo. A feature length documentary about a Platoon out in the Korengal Valley in Afghanistan during The Surge. this film in its gritty and rough realism leaves nothing to the imagination as it explicitly shows the loss of friends, the harshness of war and the strength of friendships forged in combat. For an aspiring soldier in the United States Army, the film is a tell all exposé of the true nature of war, without all the romaticized crap of films like Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down (Second and Third Greatest Movies respectively). The first time I saw this movie, I was absolutely engrossed and had to be peeled away from my living room. Fact: Restrepo is the best movie ever made.
My Second Skin
Have you ever thought to wear a costume for an entire year? Well I have, and surprisingly, my choice was easy. I decided to bear "suit up!" You see, last year I was working for a man who purchased a really nice (and expensive) Polar Bearascot suit and he happened to offer it to me. My answer "Oh hells yeah my man." From that day forward, I always had a second skin I could crawl into and make people laugh... Oh and I used it to stay warm too. I chose my polar ego, because it's a way for me to avoid dealing with everyone, by retreating into a "second skin" all the while making people laugh and be happy. It's a win-win situation. The only downside to encasing my self in the furry wonder, is that I would get no break from being awesome, and some humans just can't take an overload of awesome.
